What personal data I collect and why I collect it
I only collect your email address (and name, if supplied) when you contact me through the contact form on this website, or sign up to my Newsletter through a form on kahitchins.co.uk or through a link to a hosted signup form on social media.
1. Comments
When visitors leave comments on this site, this website collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

I have your explicit consent to process your data in order to send you the newsletter. I will never add your name to the newsletter mailing list if you have contacted me through the website – so if you do want to sign up for news and book offers etc you will need to do that through a newsletter sign-up form specifically. I do not share your information with anyone else or any other company for any reason. However, I am compelled by law to disclose information, I will do so. Periodically, I may review our mailing list and remove any members that have been inactive for a long while. You may request access to, verify, correct, change or remove your personal information or unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of one of my newsletters or by contacting me via this website on the contact page.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
